      All Day

Candidate Support Provider (CSP) training is designed to provide new CSPs with the knowledge, skills and tools to successfully support teacher candidates for National Board Certification.  After the training, CSPs will be able to:

Explain the basics of candidate support including the Five Core Propositions, the Architecture of Accomplished Teaching, and the roles and responsibilities of CSPs.

Apply adult learning principles, use effective communication skills, and set aside biases when working with candidates.

Prepare themselves to review portfolio entries by using resources such as NBPTS standards, component instructions and scoring guides.

Review portfolio entries, locate elements of evidence, and provide meaningful feedback to candidates to help them deepen their level of thinking about their teaching practice.
